Lasting color and textile trends panel discussion will examine how designers and manufacturers are looking for sustainable solutions for the color, fabric and design for the use of commercial fashion. Emphasis will be placed on the key message mode to capture and how ecological design process can be achieved with innovative and sustainable low-impact or natural dyes, fibers and fabrics. Panelists include Fran Yoshioka, independent color and trend consultant Kathy Hattori, founder and president, botanical color forecasts and Emily Spivack, writers, publishers, artists, social entrepreneurs, by Holly Henderson, eco-fashion / textile designers, consultants hosted, Deputy Assistant Professor at FIT.

Ethical Fashion and Fairtrade panel discussion include professionals in the fashion industry and discuss how and where can coexist fashion and ethics, and why it does not have to be an either / or question. Panelists discuss design, procurement, issues and concerns in the production of clothing that is both social, health and environmentally friendly. Francisca Pineda, founder of the Academy of Fashion Wallet is an award-winning fashion designer with over 15 years experience in the design of clothing and accessories for major brands in New York. She is currently the artistic director of the luxury brand bhava accessory. A defender of ethical practices in the industry, she started at the University of ethical fashion in 2012, a community-based initiative workshop, the eco-fashion events in New York and the annual Hands organized fashion in Costa Rica.
